Let the dead earth be a Sign for them. We gave it life and produced from it grain whereof they eat. 33 And We make therein gardens of palms and grapevines and We make springs to flow forth in it, 34 That they may enjoy the fruits of this (artistry): It was not their hands that made this: will they not then give thanks? 35 Purity is to Him Who created all pairs, from what the earth grows, and of themselves, and from the things they do not know. 36 And a sign for them is the night; We strip it of the day and lo, they are in darkness. 37 The sun is running its course to its appointed place. That is the ordaining of the All-Mighty, the All-Knowing. 38 And the moon - We have determined for it phases, until it returns [appearing] like the old date stalk. 39 [and] neither may the sun overtake the moon, nor can the night usurp the time of day, since all of them float through space [in accordance with Our laws]. 40 And an Ayah (sign) for them is that We bore their offspring in the laden ship [of Nuh (Noah)]. 41 And We made similar vessels for them to ride. 42 We could have drowned them if We pleased, and none would have answered their cry for help, nor would they have been saved, 43 Unless by mercy from Us and as comfort for a while. 44 When it is said to them: 'Have fear of that which is before you and behind you in order that you find mercy' 45 Indeed, not one of your Lord's signs comes to them without their turning away from it, 46 And when they are told, "Spend ye of (the bounties) with which Allah has provided you," the Unbelievers say to those who believe: "Shall we then feed those whom, if Allah had so willed, He would have fed, (Himself)? Ye are in nothing but manifest error." 47 Further, they say, "When will this promise (come to pass), if what ye say is true?" 48 They await but one Shout, which will surprise them while they are disputing. 49 Then they cannot make bequest, nor can they return to their own folk. 50
