The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
CONSIDER these [messages] ranged in serried ranks, 1 and those who drive away [the wicked] with reproof 2 And those who recite the Reminder, 3 Verily your God is One. 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth and everything between them; Lord of the Easts. 5 Lo! We have adorned the lowest heaven with an ornament, the planets; 6 And (there is) a safeguard against every rebellious Shaitan. 7 They cannot listen to the Highest Chiefs for they are pelted from every side, 8 Outcast, and theirs is a constant (or painful) torment. 9 But if anyone does succeed in snatching a glimpse [of such knowledge], he shall be pursued by a piercing flame. 10 Then ask them (i.e. these polytheists, O Muhammad SAW): "Are they stronger as creation, or those (others like the heavens and the earth and the mountains, etc.) whom We have created?" Verily, We created them of a sticky clay. 11 No, you marvel, while they scoff. 12 and when they are reminded [of the truth,] they refuse to take it to heart; 13 and when they become aware of a [divine] message, they turn it to ridicule 14 And say, "This is nothing but evident sorcery! 15 When we have died and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected? 16 And also our forefathers? 17 Say (O Muhammad): Ye, in truth; and ye will be brought low. 18 for that [resurrection which they deride] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry - and then, lo! they will begin to see [the truth] 19 and they say, 'Woe, alas for us! This is the Day of Doom.' 20 [And they will be told:] "This is the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false - the Day] which you were wont to call a lie!" 21
