۞ (Then will the command be given): “Muster all the wrong-doers and their spouses and the deities whom they used to serve 22 Besides Allah, then lead them to the way to hell. 23 and halt them [there]!" [And then,] behold, they shall be asked, 24 'But what is the matter with you that you cannot help one another?,'" 25 In fact this day they have all surrendered. 26 and advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 27 (The followers will say to their leaders): “You used to come to us from the right hand.” 28 Those say, 'No; on the contrary, you were not believers; 29 "And we had no authority over you. Nay! But you were transgressing people (disobedient, polytheists, and disbelievers). 30 “So the Word of our Lord has proved true upon us; we will surely have to taste (the punishment).” 31 we perverted you, indeed, we were perverts' 32 On that Day they will all share the punishment: 33 That is how We deal with sinners. 34 When they were told, "There is no deity but God," they turned away with disdain, 35 saying, 'What, shall we forsake our gods for a poet possessed?' 36 No, indeed, he has brought the truth, and confirmed the Messengers. 37 You shall certainly taste the painful punishment: 38 and will be recompensed only for what you deserve. 39 Save the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 40 Those will have a provision determined - 41 Fruits! And they shall be honoured. 42 In gardens of delight, 43 on couches facing each other. 44 A bowl shall be made to go round them from water running out of springs, 45 Clear, delicious to drink, 46 no headiness will be in it, and they will not get drunk thereon. 47 and with them wide-eyed maidens restraining their glances 48 As if they were eggs carefully protected. 49 Then they will advance unto each other, mutually questioning. 50 One of them speaks thus: "Behold, I had [on earth] a close companion 51 Who used to say: Art thou in truth of those who put faith (in his words)? 52 What! when we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then be certainly brought to judgment? 53 He saith: Will ye look? 54 He looked down and saw him in the midst of the Fire. 55 'By Allah' he will say, 'you almost destroyed me! 56 “And were it not for the munificence of my Lord, I too would have been seized and brought forth (captive)!” 57 (Another will say:)"Is it true, we are not going to die 58 Save our first death, and are we not to be tormented? 59 Lo! this is the supreme triumph. 60 For this the toilers should strive." 61 Is that better as a hospitality, or the Tree of Ez-Zakkoum? 62 For We have truly made it (as) a trial for the wrong-doers. 63 for, behold, it is a tree that grows in the very heart of the blazing fire [of hell,] 64 Its spathes are like the heads of satans. 65 And indeed, they will eat from it and fill with it their bellies. 66 Then on the top of that they will be given boiling water to drink so that it becomes a mixture (of boiling water and Zaqqum in their bellies). 67 then surely they shall return to Hell. 68 They found their fathers erring, 69 Yet they hasten to follow in their footsteps. 70 So had many an earlier people gone astray, 71 We had certainly sent warners to them. 72 Then see what was the end of those who were admonished (but heeded not),- 73 Other than the chosen creatures of God. 74
