۞ “Gather all the unjust persons and their spouses, and all that they used to worship!” – 22 “Instead of Allah – and herd them to the path leading to hell.” 23 And halt them, to be questioned: 24 "How is it that [now] you cannot succour one another?" 25 Nay, but that day they shall submit (to Judgment); 26 And some of them will confront the others, 27 "It was you who tried to mislead us from righteousness". 28 But they reply: 'Rather, you were not believers. 29 We had no power over you. In fact, you were a people rebellious. 30 But now our Lord's word has come true against us: truly, we are bound to taste [the punishment]. 31 So we led you astray, for we ourselves were erring. 32 So, they will become partners in punishment. 33 Surely thus do We deal with the guilty. 34 They were those who, when it was said to them, "There is no god but God," behaved with insolence, 35 And said: Shall we forsake our gods for a mad poet? 36 Nay! he (Muhammad SAW) has come with the truth (i.e. Allah's Religion - Islamic Monotheism and this Quran) and he confirms the Messengers (before him who brought Allah's religion - Islamic Monotheism). 37 Behold, you will indeed taste grievous suffering [in the life to come,] 38 And be rewarded but only for what you had done, 39 But the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah,- 40 [in the hereafter,] theirs shall be a sustenance which they will recognize 41 Fruits of every kind, and they will be honoured 42 in the Gardens of Bliss 43 (Sitting) on couches, face to face, 44 Cups of wine will be presented to them in rounds, from a spring flowing in front of them. 45 White, delicious for the drinkers. 46 No bad effect is there in it, nor from it will they be intoxicated. 47 And with them will be mates of modest gaze, most beautiful of eye, 48 As if they were (delicate) eggs closely guarded. 49 Then they will turn to one another, mutually questioning. 50 A speaker of them will say: "Verily, I had a companion (in the world), 51 Who used to say: 'Are you one of those who can testify to the truth? 52 (Do you think) we would be paid back our due when we are dead and reduced to dust and bones?' 53 Then he will say, "Shall we look for him?" 54 Then he will look and see him in the midst of the Fire. 55 And he will say: by Allah, thou hadst wellnigh causedest me to perish. 56 “And were it not for the munificence of my Lord, I too would have been seized and brought forth (captive)!” 57 (Allah informs about that true believer that he said): "Are we then not to die (any more)? 58 "Except our first death, and that we shall not be punished?" 59 Verily this is the supreme achievement! 60 For the like of this then let the workers work. 61 Is this better as a welcome, or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 We have made this (tree) a trial for the evildoers. 63 for, behold, it is a tree that grows in the very heart of the blazing fire [of hell,] 64 The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of Shayatin (devils); 65 Truly, they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 Then on top of that they will be given a mixture made of boiling water. 67 then their return is unto Hell. 68 These are the ones who found their fathers steeped in error, 69 yet they run in their footsteps, 70 And certainly most of the ancients went astray before them, 71 although, verily, We had sent warners unto them: 72 Then see what was the end of those who were warned (but heeded not). 73 Except the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 74
