۞ (And it is said unto the angels): Assemble those who did wrong, together with their wives and what they used to worship 22 Instead of Allah, and lead them to the path to hell; 23 “And stop them – they are to be questioned.” 24 "What is the matter with you? Why do you not help one another (as you used to do in the world)?" 25 They will submit to questioning then, 26 And they will approach one another blaming each other. 27 They shall say: Surely you used to come to us from the right side. 28 They will say: “Nay, you yourselves were not the ones who would believe. 29 And we had over you no authority, but ye were a people exorbitant. 30 "So now the Word of our Lord has been justified against us, that we shall certainly (have to) taste (the torment). 31 “We therefore led you astray, for we ourselves were astray!” 32 Then verily, that Day, they will (all) share in the torment. 33 Certainly, that is how We deal with Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, the disobedient to Allah, etc.). 34 Truly, when it was said to them: La ilaha ill-Allah "(none has the right to be worshipped but Allah)," they puffed themselves up with pride (i.e. denied it). 35 and would say: "Shall we, then, give up our deities at the bidding of a mad poet?" 36 'No indeed; but he brought the truth, and confirmed the Envoys. 37 Ye shall indeed taste of the Grievous Penalty;- 38 and will be recompensed only for what you deserve. 39 Not so, however, God's true servants: 40 For them is a known sustenance, 41 Fruits. And they will be honoured 42 In the Gardens of delight, 43 Facing one another on thrones. 44 A drink will be passed round among them from a flowing spring: 45 Clear, delicious to drink, 46 Neither dulling the senses nor intoxicating, 47 And with them are those who do not set gaze upon men except their husbands, the maidens with gorgeous eyes. 48 who are as chaste as sheltered eggs. 49 And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other. 50 One of them will start the talk and say: "I had an intimate companion (on the earth), 51 Who said: What! are you indeed of those who accept (the truth)? 52 Can we, when we are dead and have become mere dust and bones - can we (then) verily be brought to book? 53 Allah will say: will ye look down? 54 Then he looks, and sees him in the midst of Hell. 55 He said, “By Allah, you had nearly ruined me!” 56 If it had not been for the blessing of my Lord, I would also have been taken to Hell." 57 What then, shall we not die 58 Saving our former death, and are we not to be punished? 59 Most surely this is the mighty achievement. 60 For such a reward should the workers perform. 61 Is this better or the tree of Zaqqum 62 We have made this (tree) a trial for the evildoers. 63 Verily it is a tree that springeth forth in the bottom of Flaming Fire. 64 Its produce is as it were the heads of the serpents. 65 So indeed they will eat from it, and fill their bellies with it. 66 Then on top of that they will be given a mixture made of boiling water. 67 then surely they shall return to Hell. 68 These are the ones who found their fathers steeped in error, 69 Yet they hasten to follow in their footsteps. 70 And verily most of the men of old went astray before them, 71 And We had sent admonishers to them. 72 Then see how was the end of those warned, 73 except for the chosen servants of Allah? 74
