۞ Muster those who did evil, their wives, and that they were serving, 22 “Instead of Allah and herd them to the path leading to hell.” 23 Stop them. They must be questioned." 24 How is it that you are not helping one another? 25 Nay! on that Day they will be entirely submissive. 26 And some of them draw near unto others, mutually questioning. 27 Saying: "It were you who imposed yourselves upon us." 28 They will answer, “You yourselves did not have faith!” 29 We had no authority over you, but you were an insolent nation. 30 "So now the Word of our Lord has been justified against us, that we shall certainly (have to) taste (the torment). 31 So we led you astray, for we ourselves were erring. 32 On that Day, they will all share the chastisement. 33 Certainly, that is how We deal with Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, the disobedient to Allah, etc.). 34 for when it was said to them, 'There is no god but God,' they were ever waxing proud, 35 and would say: "Shall we, then, give up our deities at the bidding of a mad poet?" 36 No, indeed, he has brought the truth, and confirmed the Messengers. 37 You will indeed taste a painful punishment, 38 although you shall not be requited for aught but what you were wont to do. 39 Except for God's sincere servants; 40 there is waiting for them a known provision; 41 Fruits of every kind, and they will be honoured 42 In gardens of pleasure 43 on couches facing each other. 44 a cup filled with wine from its springs, will be passed around to them; 45 clear, delightful to those who drink it: 46 wherein no sickness is, neither intoxication; 47 and with them wide-eyed maidens restraining their glances 48 as if they were hidden pearls. 49 And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other. 50 And a speaker from among them will say: verily there was unto me a mate. 51 Who would say, 'Are you indeed of those who believe 52 [that] after we have died and become mere dust and bones we shall, forsooth, be brought to judgment?"' 53 He saith: Will ye look? 54 He looked down and saw him in the midst of the Fire. 55 and says: "By God! Verily, thou hast almost destroyed me [too, O my erstwhile companion] 56 Had it not been for the grace of my Lord I too would have been there (in Hell). 57 But then, [O my friends in paradise,] is it [really] so that we are not to die 58 and that we would not be punished?" 59 This is indeed the mighty triumph, 60 for which one must strive hard. 61 Is this better or the tree of Zaqqum 62 Verily We! We have made it a temptation for the wrong-doers. 63 Indeed, it is a tree issuing from the bottom of the Hellfire, 64 Its emerging fruit as if it was heads of the devils. 65 on it they shall feed, and with it they shall fill their bellies. 66 Then on the top of that they will be given boiling water to drink so that it becomes a mixture (of boiling water and Zaqqum in their bellies). 67 then their return is unto Hell. 68 Verily, they found their fathers on the wrong path; 69 So they (too) made haste to follow in their footsteps! 70 And there had already strayed before them most of the former peoples, 71 though We had sent warners among them. 72 Then see the nature of the consequence for those warned, 73 Except the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah. 74
