۞ (Then will the command be given): “Muster all the wrong-doers and their spouses and the deities whom they used to serve 22 Instead of Allah, and lead them to the path to hell; 23 and halt them [there]!" [And then,] behold, they shall be asked, 24 What aileth you that ye succour not one another? 25 Nay, but this day they make full submission. 26 And they will approach one another blaming each other. 27 "It was you who tried to mislead us from righteousness". 28 They answer: Nay, but ye (yourselves) were not believers. 29 “And we did not have any control over you; but in fact you yourselves were rebellious.” 30 "So now has been proved true, against us, the word of our Lord that we shall indeed (have to) taste (the punishment of our sins). 31 we perverted you, indeed, we were perverts' 32 Truly, that Day, they will (all) share in the Penalty. 33 As such We shall deal with the evildoers. 34 They were those who, when it was said to them, "There is no god but God," behaved with insolence, 35 and would say: "Shall we, then, give up our deities at the bidding of a mad poet?" 36 Nay! he (Muhammad SAW) has come with the truth (i.e. Allah's Religion - Islamic Monotheism and this Quran) and he confirms the Messengers (before him who brought Allah's religion - Islamic Monotheism). 37 You shall certainly taste the painful punishment: 38 Ye are requited naught save what ye did - 39 Save the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 40 shall have a known provision -- 41 fruits of various kinds; and they shall be honoured, 42 In Gardens of Delight. 43 Facing each other on Thrones (of Dignity): 44 a goblet from a spring shall be passed round to them 45 White, delicious to the drinkers, 46 Free from headiness; nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom. 47 And besides them will be chaste women, restraining their glances, with big eyes (of wonder and beauty). 48 Like sheltered eggs in a nest. 49 And they will all turn to one another, asking each other [about their past lives]. 50 one of them will say, "I had a friend, 51 Who would say, 'Are you indeed of those who believe 52 ‘That when we are dead and have turned into dust and bones, that we will either be rewarded or punished?’ 53 He will say: -- Do you wish to know where he is now?' 54 Then he looked down and saw him in the midst of hell. 55 He said: "By Allah! thou wast little short of bringing me to perdition! 56 If it had not been for the blessing of my Lord, I would also have been taken to Hell." 57 Then, are we not to die 58 "Except our first death, and that we shall not be punished?" 59 Indeed, this is the great attainment. 60 For such a reward should the workers perform. 61 Is that better as a hospitality, or the Tree of Ez-Zakkoum? 62 Lo! We have appointed it a torment for wrong-doers. 63 It is a tree that grows from the bottom of Hell; 64 Its produce is as it were the heads of the serpents. 65 And verily they must eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 then in addition to it they shall have a draught of boiling water to drink; 67 then surely they shall return to Hell. 68 Verily they found their fathers gone astray. 69 So they (too) made haste to follow in their footsteps! 70 Thus, indeed, most of the people of old went astray before them, 71 And We had already sent among them warners. 72 Then see what was the end of those who were admonished (but heeded not),- 73 Save the bondmen of Allah sincere. 74
