۞ Gather together those who did wrong and their comrades and that which they were wont to worship 22 Instead of Allah, and lead them to the path to hell; 23 And stop them; verily they are to be questioned: 24 “What is the matter with you, that you do not help one another?” 25 Nay! on that Day they will be entirely submissive. 26 They will turn upon one another, and question one another. 27 These say, 'Why, you of old would come to us from the right hand.' 28 Others will respond, "It was you who did not want to have any faith. 29 We had no power over you. You were a rebellious people, 30 Thus, the words of Our Lord about us have come true and now we are suffering the torment. 31 We mislead you and we ourselves had also gone astray." 32 So this day they all are partners in the punishment. 33 As such We shall deal with the evildoers. 34 for, behold, whenever they were told, "There is no deity save God," they would glory in their arrogance 35 And were saying, "Are we to leave our gods for a mad poet?" 36 In fact, he had brought them the truth and had acknowledged the Messengers (who were sent before him). 37 Behold, you will indeed taste grievous suffering [in the life to come,] 38 And be rewarded but only for what you had done, 39 But the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah,- 40 For them there is a known provision, 41 Fruits; and they shall be honoured, 42 in the Gardens of Bliss, 43 upon couches, set face to face, 44 There will be circulated among them a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring, 45 white, a delight to the drinkers, 46 Wherein there is no headache nor are they made mad thereby. 47 And besides them will be chaste women, restraining their glances, with big eyes (of wonder and beauty). 48 As though they were eggs hidden. 49 Then they will turn to one another and question one another. 50 One of them says, 'I had a comrade 51 "Who used to say, 'what! art thou amongst those who bear witness to the Truth (of the Message)? 52 After we are dead and have become all dust and bones shall we still be requited?' 53 Allah will say: will ye look down? 54 Then he will look and see him in the midst of the Fire. 55 He saith: By Allah, thou verily didst all but cause my ruin, 56 for had it not been for my Sustainer's favour, I would surely be [now] among those who are given over [to suffering]! 57 “So are we never to die?” (The people of Paradise will ask the angels, with delight, after the announcement of everlasting life.) 58 except for our first death, and are we not chastised? 59 Truly, this is the supreme success! 60 For the like of it should the workers work. 61 Is this a better hospitality or the tree of al-Zaqqum? 62 For We have truly made it (as) a trial for the wrong-doers. 63 It is a tree that grows at the bottom of Hell. 64 The fruit thereof is as though the hoods of the serpents. 65 And indeed, they will eat from it and fill with it their bellies. 66 Then on top of it they will have a brew of boiling water. 67 Then surely their return is towards hell. 68 They had found their fathers astray, 69 and they are running in their footsteps. 70 Before them a multitude of people of olden times had erred, 71 though We had sent among them warners. 72 Therefore see what sort of fate befell those who were warned! 73 Only Our sincere servants were saved. 74
