۞ (It will be said to the angels): "Assemble those who did wrong, together with their companions (from the devils) and what they used to worship. 22 instead of God, and lead them all onto the way to the blazing fire, 23 And detain them, for they will be questioned." 24 'But what is the matter with you that you cannot help one another?,'" 25 Nay, but this day they make full submission. 26 They will turn to each other saying, 27 They will say: verily ye! ye were wont to come unto us Imposing. 28 They will answer, “You yourselves did not have faith!” 29 "Nor had we any authority over you. Nay, it was ye who were a people in obstinate rebellion! 30 “So the Word of our Lord has proved true upon us; we will surely have to taste (the punishment).” 31 We led you astray as we were ourselves astray." 32 So this day they all are partners in the punishment. 33 Verily that is how We shall deal with Sinners. 34 For when it was said to them: 'There is no god except Allah' they were always proud 35 And said: Shall we forsake our gods for a mad poet? 36 Not in the least. He has brought the truth and confirmed the other messengers. 37 Lo! (now) verily ye taste the painful doom - 38 And you will be requited nothing except for what you used to do (evil deeds, sins, and Allah's disobedience which you used to do in this world); 39 But for the sincere worshipers of Allah, 40 For them there is a known provision, 41 Fruits; and they will be honoured. 42 In Gardens of Felicity, 43 sitting face to face upon couches, 44 Cups of wine will be presented to them in rounds, from a spring flowing in front of them. 45 White, delicious for the drinkers. 46 wherein no sickness is, neither intoxication; 47 They will have with them loving wives with big black and white eyes 48 who are as chaste as sheltered eggs. 49 So one among them turns to the other, questioning. – 50 One of them says, 'I had a comrade 51 Who used to say: Art thou in truth of those who put faith (in his words)? 52 after we die and become dust and bones, we shall be brought to judgement?'" 53 He shall say: Will you look on? 54 Then he will look downwards, and will see him in the depths of Hell. 55 He saith: By Allah, thou verily didst all but cause my ruin, 56 And had it not been for the favour of my Lord, I too had been of those haled forth (to doom). 57 So, are we not going to die, 58 Except for our first death, and we will not be punished?" 59 Verily this is the supreme achievement! 60 for which one must strive hard. 61 Is such [a paradise] the better welcome - or the [hellish] tree of deadly fruit? 62 Verily, We have caused it to be a trial for evildoers: 63 Indeed it is a tree that sprouts from the base of hell. 64 The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of Shayatin (devils); 65 And verily they must eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 Then on top of it they will have a brew of boiling water. 67 Then shall their return be to the (Blazing) Fire. 68 Surely they found their fathers going astray, 69 So they (too) made haste to follow in their footsteps! 70 And assuredly there went stray before them many of the ancients. 71 and We had sent among them Messengers to warn them. 72 Then see the nature of the consequence for those warned, 73 Not so the chosen servants of God. 74
