The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 The rising dawn, 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 Where then will you go? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
