۞ [And God will thus command:] "Assemble all those who were bent on evildoing, together with others of their ilk and [with] all that they were wont to worship 22 "Instead of Allah, and lead them on to the way of flaming Fire (Hell); 23 "But stop them, for they must be asked: 24 "Why help you not one another?" 25 Nay! on that day they shall be submissive. 26 They will then turn towards each other (and start wrangling). 27 saying: 'You used to come to us from the right hand' 28 They shall say: Nay, you (yourselves) were not believers; 29 We had no authority over you, in fact, you were a rebellious people. 30 But now our Sustainer's word has come true against us [as well]: verily, we are bound to taste [the fruit of our sins]. 31 We seduced you astray; verily we were ourselves the seduced ones. 32 So they shall on that day be sharers in the chastisement one with another. 33 Surely thus do We deal with the guilty. 34 Whenever it was said to them: “There is no true deity apart from Allah,” they waxed proud 35 and replied, "Shall we then give up our deities at the bidding of a mad poet?" 36 No, indeed, he has brought the truth, and confirmed the Messengers. 37 Most surely you will taste the painful punishment. 38 And ye shall be required not except for that which ye have been doing; 39 But Allah's chosen servants (shall be spared this woeful end). 40 For them there will be a known provision (in Paradise). 41 Fruits, and they shall be highly honored, 42 In gardens of pleasure, 43 Facing one another on thrones. 44 A bowl shall be made to go round them from water running out of springs, 45 Clear, delicious to drink, 46 Neither dulling the senses nor intoxicating, 47 And with them will be women limiting [their] glances, with large, [beautiful] eyes, 48 as if they were hidden pearls. 49 And some of them draw near unto others, mutually questioning. 50 One of them will say: “I had a companion in the world 51 Who would say, 'Are you indeed of those who believe 52 "'When we die and become dust and bones, shall we indeed receive rewards and punishments?'" 53 He will say, "Would you [care to] look?" 54 Then he looked down and saw him in the midst of hell. 55 He will say, "By Allah, you almost ruined me. 56 But for Allah's favour, I should be one of those who have been mustered here. 57 Then he will say [to his blessed companions], "Are we not going to die, 58 except for our first death? And shall we suffer no chastisement?'” 59 This is certainly the greatest triumph 60 For the like of this, then, let the workers work. 61 Is such [a paradise] the better welcome - or the [hellish] tree of deadly fruit? 62 Indeed, We have made it a torment for the wrongdoers. 63 It is a tree that grows from the bottom of Hell; 64 Its produce is as it were the heads of the serpents. 65 Truly, they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 And afterward, lo! thereupon they have a drink of boiling water 67 then their return is unto Hell. 68 They had found their fathers astray, 69 yet they run in their footsteps, 70 Thus, indeed, most of the people of old went astray before them, 71 and We sent among them warners; 72 Then see what was the end of those who were admonished (but heeded not),- 73 Except the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, and true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 74
