And indeed, [it was for this reason that] Noah cried unto Us - and how excellent was Our response: 75 And We delivered him and his followers from the mighty distress. 76 And We made his offspring the survivors. 77 and left for him among the later folk 78 Peace be unto Noah among the peoples! 79 As such We recompense the gooddoers, 80 he was truly one of Our faithful servants. 81 Then We drowned the other (disbelievers and polytheists, etc.). 82 ۞ Of his party was Abraham. 83 When he came to his Lord with a sound heart 84 "Behold!" he said to his father and to his people, "What are these that you worship? 85 Do you want [to bow down before] a lie - [before] deities other than God? 86 Then what is your thought about the Lord of the worlds?" 87 Then he looked at the stars, looking up once, 88 Then said: Lo! I feel sick! 89 So they turned away from him, departing. 90 Then he turned aside to their gods secretly and said: What! do you not eat? 91 "What is the matter with you that you speak not?" 92 then he turned on them, striking them down with his right hand. 93 Then came the others to him hastening. 94 He said: "Worship ye that which ye have (yourselves) carved? 95 And Allah has created you and what you make. 96 They replied: 'Build for him a building and cast him into the fire' 97 They desired to outwit him; so We made them the lower ones. 98 Abraham said: “I am going to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 "My Lord! Grant me (offspring) from the righteous." 100 So We gave him the good news of a clement son. 101 and when he had reached the age of running with him, he said, 'My son, I see in a dream that I shall sacrifice thee; consider, what thinkest thou?' He said, 'My father, do as thou art bidden; thou shalt find me, God willing, one of the steadfast.' 102 When they had surrendered, and he flung him upon his brow, 103 We called to him, "O Abraham, 104 you have fulfilled the dream." It is thus indeed that We reward those who do good, 105 that surely was a manifest trial, 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 and left him thus to be remembered among later generations: 108 Peace be with Abraham. 109 That is how We reward those who do good. 110 truly, he was one of Our faithful servants. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaque (Isaac) a Prophet from the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Is-haq; and of their offspring are some well-doers and some who wrong themselves manifestly. 113
