And Noah had certainly called Us, and [We are] the best of responders. 75 And We delivered him and his people from the Great Calamity, 76 And We made his descendants those remaining [on the earth] 77 And We let it remain upon him in the latter: 78 Peace be with Noah among all men in the worlds. 79 Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 80 He was one of Our believing servants. 81 Then We drowned the others. 82 ۞ Of his party was Abraham. 83 When he came to his Lord with a free heart, 84 When he said to his father and his people: "What is this you worship? 85 Is it a falsehood-god beside Allah that ye desire? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the Worlds?" 87 He looked up at the stars. 88 He then said, “I feel sick (of you)!” 89 So they turned away from him, departing. 90 Then he went quietly to the (temple of the deities) and said: “What is the matter with you, why do you not eat? 91 What aileth you that ye speak not? 92 Then he slipped unto them striking them with the right hand. 93 So the disbelievers came running towards him. 94 Abraham said to them: “Do you worship what you yourselves have carved with your own hands 95 “Whereas Allah has created you and your actions?” 96 They replied: 'Build for him a building and cast him into the fire' 97 (This failing), they then sought a stratagem against him, but We made them the ones most humiliated! 98 He said, "I will go to my Lord: He is sure to guide me. 99 Abraham prayed, "Lord, grant me a righteous son". 100 We therefore gave him the glad tidings of an intelligent son. 101 And when he reached with him [the age of] exertion, he said, "O my son, indeed I have seen in a dream that I [must] sacrifice you, so see what you think." He said, "O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, of the steadfast." 102 And when they had both submitted, and his son had laid down prostrate upon his forehead, 103 We called to him, "O Abraham, 104 Of a surety thou hast fulfilled the vision. Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 105 It was certainly an open trial. 106 And We rescued him in exchange of a great sacrifice. (The sacrifice of Ibrahim and Ismail peace be upon them is commemorated every year on 10, 11 and 12 Zil Haj). 107 And left (his hallowed memory) for posterity. 108 "Peace upon Abraham." 109 Thus do We reward the good-doers. 110 He is truly among Our faithful creatures. 111 Then We gave him the good tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous. 112 And We sent blessings upon him and Ishaq; and among their descendants some who do good deeds, and some who clearly wrong themselves. 113
