Noah called to Us, and We are the Best to answer. 75 And We rescued him and his family from the great distress (i.e. drowning), 76 and made his offspring the only ones to survive, 77 And left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the peoples! 79 Thus do We reward all those who do good. 80 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 81 Thereafter We caused the others to be drowned. 82 ۞ And indeed Ibrahim is from his (Nooh’s) group. 83 when he came unto his Lord with a pure heart, 84 "Behold!" he said to his father and to his people, "What are these that you worship? 85 "Is it a falsehood aliha (gods) other than Allah that you seek? 86 What then is your opinion of the Lord of the Worlds? 87 He cast a glance at the stars 88 And said, "Indeed, I am [about to be] ill." 89 But they went away from him, turning their backs. 90 He turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 What aileth you that ye speak not? 92 He struck them with his right hand. 93 whereupon people came to him running. 94 He said: Worship ye that which ye yourselves do carve 95 When Allah hath created you and what ye make? 96 They said, "Build a pyre for him and throw him into the blaze!" 97 So they tried to execute their evil scheme upon him – We therefore degraded them. (Allah saved him, by commanding the fire to turn cool). 98 And he said: Surely I fly to my lord; He will guide me. 99 "O my Lord! Grant me a righteous (son)!" 100 So We gave him the good news of a boy, possessing forbearance. 101 And when he attained the age of running with him, he said: O my son! verily I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering thee; so look, what considerest thou? He said: O my father! do that which thou art commanded; thou shalt find me, Allah willing, of the patients. 102 When they had surrendered, and he flung him upon his brow, 103 And We called out to him: "O Abraham! 104 “You have indeed made the dream come true”; and this is how We reward the virtuous. 105 for, behold, all this was indeed a trial, clear in itself. 106 And We ransomed him with a Feat sacrifice. 107 and left him thus to be succeeded by a group [of followers] among later generations: 108 Peace be unto Abraham! 109 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 110 He was one of Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaq, a Herald of the Hidden, from among those who deserve Our proximity. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among their descendants are some who do good, but some who wrong themselves. 113
