Noah had verily called to Us. And how gracious was He who answered (him). 75 And We delivered him and his people from the great distress, 76 And made his seed the survivors, 77 And left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 78 'Peace be upon Noah among all the worlds' 79 This is how We reward the virtuous. 80 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 81 We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ Abraham was of the same faith: 83 he came to his Lord with a sound heart. 84 When he said unto his father and his folk: What is it that ye worship? 85 Is it a calumny, gods apart from God, that you desire? 86 What then is your opinion of the Lord of the Worlds? 87 Then he looked carefully at the stars 88 Then said: Lo! I feel sick! 89 But they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 Then turned he to their gods and said: Will ye not eat? 91 “What is the matter with you, that you do not say anything?” 92 He then began striking them with his right hand, unseen by the people. 93 His people came rushing towards him, 94 "Why do you worship these you carve yourselves," he asked, 95 "When God has created you and what you make?" 96 They said, 'Build him a building, and cast him into the furnace!' 97 But whereas they sought to do evil unto him, We [frustrated their designs, and thus] brought them low? 98 He said, 'I am going to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 Abraham prayed, "Lord, grant me a righteous son". 100 And We gave him the glad tidings of a very gentle son (Ishmael). 101 When his son was old enough to work with him, he said, "My son, I have had a dream that I must sacrifice you. What do you think of this?" He replied, "Father, fulfill whatever you are commanded to do and you will find me patient, by the will of God". 102 So when they both submitted and he threw him down upon his forehead, 103 We called to him, saying: 'O Abraham, 104 thou hast confirmed the vision; even so We recompense the good-doers. 105 Indeed this was a clear test. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty victim. 107 and left for him among the later folk 108 "Peace be upon Abraham!" 109 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 110 Verily, he was one of Our believing slaves. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaq, a Herald of the Hidden, from among those who deserve Our proximity. 112 and We blessed him and Isaac, and from their offspring are some gooddoers, and others who clearly wronged themselves. 113
