And Noah had certainly called Us, and [We are] the best of responders. 75 And We rescued him and his family from the great distress (i.e. drowning), 76 and made his offspring the only ones to survive, 77 and left for him among the later folk 78 'Peace be upon Noah among all the worlds' 79 That is how We reward those who do good. 80 he was one of Our believing worshipers. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ And most surely Ibrahim followed his way. 83 He turned to his Lord with a sound heart 84 When he said to his father and his people: "What is this you worship? 85 Is it a falsehood - gods beside Allah - that ye desire? 86 What think you then of the Lord of all Being?' 87 He then shot a glance at the stars. 88 And said: "I am sick (of what you worship)!" 89 So turning their backs, they went away from him. 90 He turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 What is the matter with you that you do not speak?" 92 And he turned upon them striking them with the right hand. 93 And (his people) came toward him, hastening. 94 Said he: What! do you worship what you hew out? 95 "While Allah has created you and what you make!" 96 They replied: 'Build for him a building and cast him into the fire' 97 And they designed a snare for him, but We made them the undermost. 98 And he said: "I am going away to my Lord who will show me the way. 99 My Lord! Vouchsafe me of the righteous. 100 We gave him the glad news of the birth of a forbearing son. 101 And when he attained the age of running with him, he said: O my son! verily I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering thee; so look, what considerest thou? He said: O my father! do that which thou art commanded; thou shalt find me, Allah willing, of the patients. 102 When they had both submitted to God, and he had laid his son down on his face, 103 We called out to him "O Abraham! 104 you have confirmed your vision' As such We recompense the gooddoers. 105 Most surely this is a manifest trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a tremendous sacrifice, 107 And left (his hallowed memory) for posterity. 108 'Peace be upon Abraham!' 109 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 110 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaque (Isaac) a Prophet from the righteous. 112 And We showered Our blessings on him and on Ishaq; and of their offspring are the doers of good, and (also) those who are clearly unjust to their own souls. 113
