And Nuh did certainly call upon Us, and most excellent answerer of prayer are We. 75 We saved him and his family from the great affliction, 76 And We made his descendants those remaining [on the earth] 77 and left for him among the later folk 78 Peace be with Noah among all men in the worlds. 79 Thus do We reward all those who do good. 80 he was one of Our believing worshipers. 81 Then afterwards We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ Abraham was of the same faith: 83 When he came to his Lord with a free heart, 84 When he said to his father and to his people: "What is it that which you worship? 85 Do you want [to bow down before] a lie - [before] deities other than God? 86 “So what do you assume regarding the Lord Of The Creation?” (That He will not punish you?) 87 Then he looked at the stars, looking up once, 88 He then said, “I feel sick (of you)!” 89 So they turned away from him, and departed (for fear of the disease). 90 Then he turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 What is the matter with you, that you do not speak' 92 And he turned upon them smiting them with his right hand. 93 Then came the others to him hastening. 94 He answered: "Do you worship something that you [yourselves] have carved, 95 When Allah hath created you and what ye make? 96 They exclaimed: "Build a pyre for him, and cast him into the blazing fire!" 97 They plotted against him, but We brought humiliation upon them. 98 And he said: Surely I fly to my lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord! grant me of the doers of good deeds. 100 Wherefore We gave him the glad tidings of a boy gentle. 101 When he was old enough to go about with him, he said: "O my son, I dreamt that I was sacrificing you. Consider, what you think?" He replied: "Father, do as you are commanded. If God pleases you will find me firm." 102 Then when the twain had submitted themselves and he had prostrated him upon his temple. 103 And We called out to him saying: O Ibrahim! 104 you have fulfilled the dream." It is thus indeed that We reward those who do good, 105 Verily that! that was a trial manifest. 106 And We rescued him in exchange of a great sacrifice. (The sacrifice of Ibrahim and Ismail peace be upon them is commemorated every year on 10, 11 and 12 Zil Haj). 107 and We preserved for him a good name among posterity. 108 Peace be upon Ibrahim! 109 Thus do We reward the good-doers. 110 Verily he was one of Our believing bondmen. 111 And we gave him tidings of the birth of Isaac, a prophet of the righteous. 112 And We blessed him, and Isaac; and of their seed some are good-doers, and some manifest self-wrongers. 113
