The Wall (Al-Hujuraat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ O you who believe! Do not put (yourselves) forward before Allah and His Messenger (SAW), and fear Allah. Verily! Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. 1 O People who Believe! Do not raise your voices higher than the voice of the Prophet, nor speak to him loudly the way you shout to one another, lest your deeds go to waste whilst you are unaware. (Faith will go waste due to the slightest disrespect towards the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him. To honour him is part of faith. To disrespect him is blasphemy.) 2 Verily! Those who lower their voices in the presence of Allah's Messenger (SAW), they are the ones whose hearts Allah has tested for piety. For them is forgiveness and a great reward. 3 Surely most of those who call out to you, (O Prophet), from behind the apartments, are devoid of understanding. 4 Had they exercised patience until you had come out, it would have been better for them. God is All-forgiving and All-merciful. 5 O ye who believe! if an evil-doer came unto you with a report, then inquire strictly, lest ye hurt a people in ignorance and repent thereafter of that which ye have done. 6 And know that among you is Allah's Messenger: were he, in many matters, to follow your (wishes), ye would certainly fall into misfortune: But Allah has endeared the Faith to you, and has made it beautiful in your hearts, and He has made hateful to you Unbelief, wickedness, and rebellion: such indeed are those who walk in righteousness;- 7 A Grace and Favour from Allah; and Allah is full of Knowledge and Wisdom. 8 If two parties among the Believers fall into a quarrel, make ye peace between them: but if one of them transgresses beyond bounds against the other, then fight ye (all) against the one that transgresses until it complies with the command of Allah; but if it complies, then make peace between them with justice, and be fair: for Allah loves those who are fair (and just). 9 The believers are naught else than brothers. Therefore make peace between your brethren and observe your duty to Allah that haply ye may obtain mercy. 10
