And indeed, [it was for this reason that] Noah cried unto Us - and how excellent was Our response: 75 And We rescued him and his household from the great calamity. 76 And We made his offspring the survivors. 77 And left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 78 Peace on Noah among all men. 79 Thus do We reward all those who do good. 80 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 81 [and so We saved him and those who followed him] and then We caused the others to drown. 82 ۞ And indeed Ibrahim is from his (Nooh’s) group. 83 When he came to his Lord with a pure heart, 84 When he said unto his father and his folk: What is it that ye worship? 85 Is it a falsehood - gods beside Allah - that ye desire? 86 "Then what do you think about the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns, and all that exists)?" 87 Then did he cast a glance at the Stars. 88 and said: 'Surely, I am sick (of what you worship)' 89 and at that they turned their backs on him and went away. 90 He turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 What is amiss with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he turned against them secretly, smiting them with the right hand. 93 Thereupon the people came running to him. 94 He said, "Do you worship that which you [yourselves] carve, 95 when it is Allah who created you and all that you do' 96 They said, "Let us build a fire and throw him into the flames". 97 So they tried to execute their evil scheme upon him – We therefore degraded them. (Allah saved him, by commanding the fire to turn cool). 98 He said, "I will go to my Lord: He is sure to guide me. 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son.” 100 Wherefore We gave him the glad tidings of a boy gentle. 101 And when (his son) was old enough to walk with him, (Abraham) said: O my dear son, I have seen in a dream that I must sacrifice thee. So look, what thinkest thou? He said: O my father! Do that which thou art commanded. Allah willing, thou shalt find me of the steadfast. 102 And when they had both submitted and he put him down upon his forehead, 103 And We called out to him: "O Abraham! 104 "Thou hast already fulfilled the vision!" - thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 105 This was indeed a plain trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice, 107 and left for him among the later folk 108 Peace be on Ibrahim. 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good. 110 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the good news of Isaac - a prophet,- one of the Righteous. 112 And We showered Our blessings on him and on Ishaq; and of their offspring are the doers of good, and (also) those who are clearly unjust to their own souls. 113
