Noah called to Us, and We are the Best to answer. 75 And We delivered him and his people from the Great Calamity, 76 And We preserved his descendants. 77 And left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the peoples! 79 Thus do We reward all those who do good. 80 Surely he was one of Our truly believing servants. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ Verily among those who followed his Way was Abraham. 83 When he came to his Lord with a sound heart 84 When he said to his father (paternal uncle) and his people, “What do you worship?” 85 "Is it a falsehood- gods other than Allah- that ye desire? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the Worlds' 87 He looked up at the stars. 88 and he said, 'Surely I am sick.' 89 So they turned away from him, departing. 90 Then he slipped unto their gods and said: eat ye not? 91 "What is the matter with you that ye speak not (intelligently)?" 92 Then he turned upon them, striking them with his right hand, 93 Then they (the worshippers of idols) came, towards him, hastening. 94 He said, "How can you worship what you yourselves have carved 95 "When God has created you and what you make?" 96 They spoke among themselves: “Build him a pyre and then throw him into the furnace.” 97 So they contrived a plot against him, but We made them abject. 98 (Abraham) said, "I will go to my Lord who will guide me". 99 "O my Lord! Grant me a righteous (son)!" 100 So We gave him the good news of a boy, possessing forbearance. 101 And when he became capable of working with him, Ibrahim said, “O my son, I dreamt that I am sacrificing you – therefore now consider what is your opinion”; he said, “O my father! Do what you are commanded! Allah willing, you will soon find me patiently enduring!” 102 So when they both submitted and he threw him down upon his forehead, 103 We called unto him, 'Abraham, 104 thou hast already fulfilled [the purpose of] that dream-vision!" Thus, verily, do We reward the doers of good: 105 This was indeed a plain trial. 106 So We ransomed him for a great sacrifice, 107 And We left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 108 'Peace be upon Abraham!' 109 That is how We recompense the righteous: 110 He was one of Our believing worshipers. 111 And we gave him tidings of the birth of Isaac, a prophet of the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among their descendants are some who do good, but some who wrong themselves. 113
