Hizb 46
< random >
And Jonah too was one of the Messengers. 139 When he fled unto the laden ship, 140 And he drew lots and was among the losers. 141 Then a fish swallowed him, and he was blameworthy. 142 Had it not been that he (repented and) glorified Allah, 143 he would certainly have remained inside the fish till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ So We cast him, sick, on a barren shore, 145 And We caused a plant of gourd to grow over him. 146 Then We sent him unto a hundred thousand, or more, 147 And they came to believe; so We allowed them to enjoy the good things of life for an age. 148 Now ask them (O Muhammad SAW): "Are there (only) daughters for your Lord and sons for them?" 149 Or created We the angels females while they were present? 150 It is only because of their false invention that they say, 151 " Allah has begotten," and indeed, they are liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters above sons? 153 Woe to you! How terrible is your Judgment. 154 Will ye not then be admonished? 155 Or have you received some clear authority? 156 Produce, then, that divine writ of yours, if you are speaking the truth! 157 They have established a kinship between Allah and the angels; and the angels know well that these people will be arraigned (as culprits). 158 (They say): “Exalted be Allah above what they attribute to Him, 159 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 160 Lo! verily, ye and that which ye worship, 161 Can tempt anyone to rebel against Him. 162 Save him who will go to hell. 163 [The angels say], "There is not among us any except that he has a known position. 164 And verily we! we are ranged in ranks. 165 And verily we! we hallow. 166 They used to say before: 167 "Had we received guidance from the people living before us, 168 We would be single-minded slaves of Allah. 169 They therefore denied it, so they will soon come to know. 170 We have already given Our promise to Our Messengers 171 That undoubtedly, only they will be helped. 172 and Our host -- they are the victors. 173 So turn thou from them for a while, 174 See them and soon they shall see. 175 Do they seek to hasten on Our Torment? 176 But when it descends in their territory, then evil is the morning of those who were warned. 177 So turn (away) from them for a while, 178 And (then) see, for they too shall see. 179 Glory be to your Lord, the Lord of Honor, above what they describe. 180 Peace be on the Messengers. 181 And all praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. 182
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
