Hizb 46
< random >
Verily Jonah is one of the apostles. 139 When he fled unto the laden ship, 140 cast lots, and was among the losers. 141 Then a fish swallowed him, and he was blameworthy. 142 and had he not been among those who exalt (Allah), 143 He would have tarried in the belly thereof till the Day when they are raised. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on a desert shore while he was sick; 145 and We caused to grow over him a tree of gourds. 146 We sent him to a hundred thousand or more people. 147 And they believed, whrefore We let them enjoy life for a season. 148 Now ask them (O Muhammad): Hath thy Lord daughters whereas they have sons? 149 Did We create the angels as females the while they witnessed?” 150 No indeed! It is one of their fabrications when they say: 151 God hath begotten. Verily they are the liars. 152 "He has chosen daughters in preference to sons"! 153 What is amiss with you and your judgment? 154 Will ye not then receive admonition? 155 Or have ye an authority manifest? 156 Produce, then, that divine writ of yours, if you are speaking the truth! 157 They have set up a kinship between Him and the jinn; and the jinn know that they shall be arraigned. 158 God is too glorious for what they ascribe to Him 159 Except the chosen servants of Allah [who do not share in that sin]. 160 Therefore you and all what you worship. (The disbelievers and their deities.) 161 You cannot make anyone rebel against Him. 162 except those who will burn in Hell. 163 [The angels say], "There is not among us any except that he has a known position. 164 We are surely those who are arranged in ranks. 165 “And indeed we are those who say His purity.” 166 And there were those who said, 167 'If only we had a reminder from the ancients, 168 "We should certainly have been Servants of Allah, sincere (and devoted)!" 169 But when it came to them, they rejected it. They shall soon come to know (the end of such an attitude). 170 for, long ago has Our word gone forth unto Our servants, the message-bearers, 171 assuredly they shall be helped, 172 And most surely Our host alone shall be the victorious ones. 173 Therefore turn away from them for some time. 174 And see them thou; they themselves shall presently see. 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 176 But when it descends into the open space before them, evil will be the morning for those who were warned (and heeded not)! 177 So turn away from them for a while. 178 And see, for they are going to see. 179 Exalted be your Lord, the Lord of Glory, above what they attribute to Him, 180 And peace be upon all His message-bearers! 181 and praise belongs to God, the Lord of all Being. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
