S (Saad)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Suad, I swear by the Quran, full of admonition. 1 Verily those who disbelieve are in vainglory and schism. 2 How many generations before them did We destroy? In the end they cried (for mercy)- when there was no longer time for being saved! 3 It seems strange to the pagans that a man from their own people should come to them as a Prophet. The unbelievers have said, "He is only a lying magician". 4 What, has he made the gods One God? This is indeed a wondrous thing' 5 And their leading chiefs said: "Remain attached to your gods. There is surely some motive behind it. 6 We heard not thereof in the later faith; this is naught but an invention. 7 Hath unto him the admonition been sent down from amongst us! Yea! they are in doubt concerning My admonition. Yea! they have not yet tasted My torment. 8 Do they possess the treasures of your Lord, the Most Mighty, the Great Bestower? 9 Or is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, theirs? Then let them climb up the ladders (to the heavens). 10 They will be one more army vanquished among the many routed hordes. 11 Before them the people of Noah denied the truth, as did the 'Ad and Pharaoh of the Stakes, 12 And the Thamud, and the people of Lut, and the dwellers of the wood; these were the confederates. 13 not one [was there] but gave the lie to the apostles - and thereupon My retribution fell due. 14
