S (Saad)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Sad: By the Qur'an, Full of Admonition: (This is the Truth). 1 But the Unbelievers (are steeped) in self-glory and Separatism. 2 How many generations We have destroyed before them! And they cried out when it was too late to escape. 3 It seems strange to the pagans that a man from their own people should come to them as a Prophet. The unbelievers have said, "He is only a lying magician". 4 Has he turned so many gods into one deity? This is indeed a strange thing!" 5 And the Council of them depart, saying 'Go! Be steadfast to your gods; this is a thing to be desired. 6 "We have not heard (the like) of this among the people of these later days. This is nothing but an invention! 7 To him of all of us has the Reminder been sent down?" They are still in doubt about My admonition; but they have not tasted My punishment yet! 8 Or do they hold the treasures of the mercy of your Lord, the Almighty, the Great Bestower? 9 Or is theirs the kingdom of the heavens and earth and of what between them is? Why, then let them ascend the cords! 10 (As they denied Allah's Message) they will be a defeated host like the confederates of the old times (who were defeated). 11 Before them (were many who) belied Messengers, the people of Nuh (Noah); and 'Ad; and Fir'aun (Pharaoh) the man of stakes (with which he used to punish the people), 12 and Thamood, and the people of Lot, and the men of the Thicket - those were the parties; 13 Not one of them but belied the Messengers, therefore My Torment was justified, 14
