S (Saad)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Sad: By the Qur'an, Full of Admonition: (This is the Truth). 1 Those who deny the truth are steeped in arrogance and hostility. 2 Many a generation We did destroy before them – thereupon they cried out whereas it is not the time to escape! 3 Now these [people] deem it strange that a warner should have come unto them from their own midst - and [so] the deniers of the truth are saying: "A [mere] spellbinder is he, a liar! 4 "Has he made the aliha (gods) (all) into One Ilah (God - Allah). Verily, this is a curious thing!" 5 And their leaders went about, “Leave him and cling steadfastly to your Gods! Indeed he has a hidden objective in this!” 6 We have heard nothing like this in the latest religion. This is only his own false invention. 7 "What! has the Message been sent to him - (Of all persons) among us?"... but they are in doubt concerning My (Own) Message! Nay, they have not yet tasted My Punishment! 8 Or, have they the treasuries of the Mercy of your Lord, the Almighty, the Giving? 9 Or is theirs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and what is between them? Then let them ascend through [any] ways of access. 10 (As they denied Allah's Message) they will be a defeated host like the confederates of the old times (who were defeated). 11 To the truth gave the lie aforetime Noah's people, and [the tribe of] Ad, and Pharaoh of the [many] tent-poles, 12 And the Thamud, and the people of Lut, and the dwellers of the wood; these were the confederates. 13 None of them was such that it did not deny the Noble Messengers, therefore My punishment became inevitable. 14
