Not without purpose did We create heaven and earth and all between! that were the thought of Unbelievers! but woe to the Unbelievers because of the Fire (of Hell)! 27 Shall We treat those who believe and do good works as those who spread corruption in the earth; or shall We treat the pious as the wicked? 28 This is a Book We have sent down unto thee, blest, that they may ponder the revelations thereof, and that there may be admonished men of understanding. 29 And We gave unto David Solomon; how excellent a servant he was! He was a penitent. 30 [and even] when, towards the close of day, nobly-bred, swift-footed steeds were brought before him, 31 he said, "My love of horses for the cause of God has made me continue watching them until sunset, thus making me miss my prayer". 32 "Bring them back to me!" -- [he said] and began to stroke their legs and their necks. 33 We surely tried Solomon, and placed another body on his throne. So he turned to God 34 He said: 'Forgive me my Lord, and give me a kingdom the like of which will not befall any after me, surely, You are the Giver' 35 Then We made the wind subservient to him; it made his command to run gently wherever he desired, 36 and also the jinn, every kind of builder and diver 37 and others chained in fetters. 38 (Saying): This is Our gift, so bestow thou, or withhold, without reckoning. 39 And he enjoyed, indeed, a Near Approach to Us, and a beautiful Place of (Final) Return. 40
