The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 They are devising guile, 15 but I too plan against them. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
