And We did not create the heaven and the earth and what is between them in vain; that is the opinion of those who disbelieve then woe to those who disbelieve on account of the fire. 27 Shall We treat those who believe and do good like the mischief-makers in the earth? Or shall We make those who guard (against evil) like the wicked? 28 It is a blessed Book which We have revealed for you so that you will reflect upon its verses and so the people of understanding will take heed. 29 We granted Solomon to David, a blessed servant of Ours and certainly the most repentant person. 30 When there were brought to him in the evening (horses) still when standing, swift when running-- 31 he said: 'Indeed I have loved the love of good things better than the remembrance of my Lord until the sun has vanished behind a veil. 32 [He said], "Return them to me," and set about striking [their] legs and necks. 33 Indeed, We tried Solomon and placed a body (of a child) upon his throne, then he repented. 34 He said: 'Forgive me my Lord, and give me a kingdom the like of which will not befall any after me, surely, You are the Giver' 35 We subjected the wind to him, so that it blew gently at his bidding, wherever he directed it, 36 And the shaitans, every builder and diver, 37 And also others bound in fetters. 38 This is Our gift, so bestow thou or withhold, without rendering an account. 39 His reward will be nearness to Us, a good place to return to. 40
