Commemorate Our Servant Job. Behold he cried to his Lord: "The Evil One has afflicted me with distress and suffering!" 41 Stamp the ground with thy foot, yonder is water to wash in, cool, and water to drink. 42 And We granted him his family and a like [number] with them as mercy from Us and a reminder for those of understanding. 43 "And take in thy hand a little grass, and strike therewith: and break not (thy oath)." Truly We found him full of patience and constancy. How excellent in Our service! ever did he turn (to Us)! 44 Remember also Our servants Abraham, Isaac and Jacob -- men of might they and of vision. 45 Assuredly We purified them with a quality most pure, the remembrance of the Abode, 46 They are the chosen ones, the excellent in Our sight. 47 And remember Ishmael, Elisha, and Dhu al-Kifl. All were of the best. 48 This is a Reminder, and verily, for the Muttaqun (pious and righteous persons - see V. 2:2) is a good final return (Paradise), 49 Gardens of Eden, whereof the gates are opened for them, 50 Therein they will recline; therein they will call for plenteous fruit and drink. 51 ۞ and wherein there shall be with them well-matched, bashful mates. 52 This it is what you (Al-Muttaqun - the pious) are promised for the Day of Reckoning! 53 Indeed this is Our sustenance, which will never end. 54 This (for the virtuous); but for the transgressors the evil destination, 55 Hell, which they will [enter to] burn, and wretched is the resting place. 56 This - let them taste it: scalding water and corruption. 57 And other Penalties of a similar kind, to match them! 58 'This is a troop rushing in with you; there is no Welcome for them; they shall roast in the Fire.' 59 They will say to them, "You are not welcome! It was you who brought this on us, an evil place to stay," 60 They will say: 'Our Lord, give those who brought this upon us double the punishment of the Fire' 61 And they say, “What is the matter with us that we do not see the men whom we thought were evil?” 62 Was it that we (only) took them in scorn, or have our eyes (now) turned aside from them? 63 Lo! that is very truth: the wrangling of the dwellers in the Fire. 64
