NAY, but consider the moon! 32 And [by] the night when it departs 33 By the dawn when it lightens! 34 Verily, that [hell-fire] is Indeed one of the great [forewarnings] 35 Warn the men. 36 To any of you that chooses to go forward (by working righteous deeds), or to remain behind (by commiting sins), 37 Each soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 Save those who will stand on the right hand. 39 In gardens, they shall ask each other 40 and will ask of the criminals, 41 "What led you into Hell Fire?" 42 They will say, "We were not of those who prayed, 43 and neither did we feed the needy; 44 and we plunged along with the plungers, 45 and we cried lies to the Day of Doom, 46 until the inevitable event overtook us.” 47 Then there will not profit them intercesion of the interceders. 48 Then what is the matter with them that they turn away from admonition?- 49 As if they were alarmed donkeys 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Forsooth, each one of them wants to be given scrolls (of revelation) spread out! 52 No! But they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily. Lo! this is an Admonishment. 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 But they will not remember except as God wills: He is worthy to be feared, and He is worthy of forgiving 56
