And remember Our servant Job: when he cried to his Lord: “Behold, Satan has afflicted me with much hardship and suffering.” 41 Urge with your foot; here is a cool washing-place and a drink. 42 And We granted him his family and a like [number] with them as mercy from Us and a reminder for those of understanding. 43 And We said, “Take a broom in your hand and strike her with it, and do not break your vow”; We indeed found him patiently enduring; what an excellent bondman! He is indeed most inclined. 44 And remember Our slaves, Ibrahim (Abraham), Ishaque (Isaac), and Ya'qub (Jacob), (all) owners of strength (in worshipping Us) and (also) of religious understanding. 45 Assuredly We purified them with a quality most pure, the remembrance of the Abode, 46 Indeed with Us they are among the chosen, the excellent. 47 Remember also Our servants Ishmael, Elisha, and Dhul Kifl; each is among the excellent. 48 This is an admonition, and verily for the God-fearing is a happy retreat: 49 Gardens of Eternity, whose doors will (ever) be open to them; 50 Reclining within them, they will call therein for abundant fruit and drink. 51 ۞ with them, they will have pure, modest women of an equal age. 52 This is what you, [the righteous], are promised for the Day of Account. 53 This is surely Our provision never-ending. 54 All of this; but, for the proud there is an ill return. 55 Hell, in which they will burn. How vile a resting place! 56 This is for the criminals – so that they may taste it – boiling hot water and pus. 57 and other torments of the like kind coupled together. 58 This is a crowd rushing in along with you; no welcome for them; verily they are to roast in the Fire. 59 But they will say: 'No, it is you that has no welcome. It was you who brought it upon us, an evil place' 60 They say, “Our Lord! Whoever has brought this calamity upon us – double the punishment of the fire for him!” 61 And they say: What aileth us that we behold not men whom we were wont to count among the wicked? 62 Have we taken them in mockery? Or, have our eyes swerved from them?' 63 Lo! that is very truth: the wrangling of the dwellers in the Fire. 64
