And remember Our bondman Ayyub (Job); when he cried out* to his Lord, “The devil has struck me with hardship and pain.” (After seven years of patience.) 41 (And it was said unto him): Strike the ground with thy foot. This (spring) is a cool bath and a refreshing drink. 42 And We bestowed on him (again) his household and therewith the like thereof, a mercy from Us, and a memorial for men of understanding. 43 We told him, "Take a handful of straw. Strike your wife with it to fulfill your oath." We found him to be patient. What an excellent servant he was. He was certainly most repenting. 44 (Muhammad), recall Our servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, all of whom possessed virtuous hands and clear visions. 45 We indeed gave them distinction with a genuine affair – the remembrance of the (everlasting) abode. 46 And indeed they are, to Us, among the chosen and outstanding. 47 And remember Ismail and Al-Yasha and Zulkifl; and they were all of the best. 48 Such is their noble story. The pious ones will certainly have the best place to return. 49 gardens of perpetual bliss, with gates wide-open to them, 50 They will be resting therein and will be able to ask for many kinds of fruit and drink. 51 ۞ with them, they will have pure, modest women of an equal age. 52 This is what you, [the righteous], are promised for the Day of Account. 53 Indeed, this is Our provision; for it there is no depletion. 54 All this; but for the insolent awaits an ill resort, 55 Hell, wherein they roast: a wretched couch. 56 This - let them taste it: scalding water and corruption. 57 And other [punishments] of its type [in various] kinds. 58 Here is an army rushing blindly with you. (Those who are already in the Fire say): No word of welcome for them. Lo! they will roast at the Fire. 59 They will reply: “Rather, no welcome to you. (You will roast in Hell.) It is you who led us to this end. What an evil resort!” 60 They will say: "O Lord, give him who has brought this upon us two times more the torment of Hell;" 61 And they shall say: What is the matter with us that we do not see men whom we used to count among the vicious? 62 Did we take them as an object of mockery, or have (our) eyes failed to perceive them?" 63 Such, behold, will in truth be the [confusion and] mutual wrangling of the people of the fire! 64
