The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming. 2 abasing, exalting, 3 When the earth will be shaken with a terrible shake. 4 And the mountains are crumbled, crumbled. 5 So that they become dust seattered. 6 On that day, you (mankind) will be divided into three groups: 7 Those on the right hand; how happy shall those on the right hand be! 8 And the People on the Left: and how miserable will be the People on the Left! 9 And the Outstrippers, the Outstrippers 10 they who were [always] drawn close unto God! 11 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise). 12 a host of the ancients 13 And a few from among the latter. 14 upon close-wrought couches 15 Reclining therein face to face. 16 Round about them shall go youths never altering in age, 17 With goblets and ewers and a cup of pure drink; 18 No after-ache will they receive therefrom, nor will they suffer intoxication: 19 they will also go about them with the fruits of which they may choose, 20 And the flesh of fowls that they desire. 21 And [for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes, 22 Like unto preserved pearls. 23 As recompense for all they had done. 24 They will hear no nonsense there or talk of sin, 25 but only the saying: 'Peace, Peace' 26 The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 27 (They will be) among thornless lote-trees, 28 And plantains laden with fruit. 29 and spreading shade 30 and outpoured waters, 31 And fruit, abundant [and varied], 32 Unending, unforbidden, 33 and raised couches 34 Surely We have made them to grow into a (new) growth, 35 And made them virgins, 36 Loving, equals in age, 37 For the sake of the companions of the right hand. 38
