(Muhammad) say, "I am only a warner. The only Lord is God, the Almighty. 65 He is the Lord of the heavens, the earth, and all that is between them, the Majestic and All-forgiving". 66 Say: "This is a momentous message, 67 Whence ye turn away! 68 I have no knowledge of the dispute among the angels (concerning their attitude towards Adam). 69 I have only received revelation to give you plain warning. 70 (Remember) when your Lord said to the angels: "Truly, I am going to create man from clay". 71 After I have created him and breathed into him of My spirit, fall you down, prostrating yourselves to him.” 72 The angels prostrated themselves, all of them. 73 except Iblis. He waxed proud and became one of the unbelievers. 74 Said Allah, “O Iblis! What prevented you from prostrating before one whom I have created with My hands*? Have you become proud or were you haughty from the beginning?” (Used as a metaphor). 75 He said: I am better than he: me Thou hast created of fire, and him Thou hast created of clay. 76 He said, “Therefore exit from heaven, for you have been outcast.” (To disrespect the Prophets – peace and blessings be upon them – is blasphemy.) 77 And indeed, upon you is My curse until the Day of Recompense." 78 He said, "Lord, grant me respite until the Day of Resurrection". 79 He said: Lo! thou art of those reprieved 80 until the day of the known time.' 81 He said: by Thy majesty, then, I shall surely seduce them, all. 82 except those among them who are Your sincere worshipers' 83 God said, "This is the truth, I speak only the truth, 84 I will fill up Hell with you together with those who follow you." 85 Say: 'I ask of you no wage for it, neither am I of those who take things upon themselves. 86 This is nothing but an Admonition for all people the world over. 87 and you shall surely know its tiding after a while.' 88
