Could, then, one whose bosom God has opened wide with willingness towards self-surrender unto Him, so that he is illumined by a light [that flows] from his Sustainer, [be likened to the blind and deaf of heart]? Woe, then, unto those whose hearts are hardened against all remembrance of God! They are most obviously lost in error! 22 God has sent down the best Message: a Scripture that is consimilar and oft-repeated: that causes the skins of those in awe of their Lord to creep. Then their skins and their hearts soften at the mention of God: such is God's guidance. He bestows it upon whoever He will; but no one can guide those whom God leaves to stray. 23 Is he then, who will confront with his face the awful torment on the Day of Resurrection (as he who enters peacefully in Paradise)? And it will be said to the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.): "Taste what you used to earn!" 24 Those who lived before them did [too] give the lie to the truth - whereupon suffering befell them without their having perceived whence it came: 25 God made them suffer humiliation in this life. Would that they knew that the torment for them in the next life will be even greater. 26 We have given all kinds of examples for the human being in this Quran so that perhaps he may take heed. 27 An Arabic Qur'an, wherein there is no crookedness, that haply they may fear. 28 Allah coineth a similitude: A man in relation to whom are several part-owners, quarrelling, and a man belonging wholly to one man. Are the two equal in similitude? Praise be to Allah! But most of them know not. 29 You will die and they too will die, 30 In the end will ye (all), on the Day of Judgment, settle your disputes in the presence of your Lord. 31
