Consultation (Al-Shooraa)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Ha-Meem. (Alphabets of the Arabic language – Allah, and to whomever He reveals, know their precise meanings.) 1 'AeenSeenQaaf 2 Thus Allah the Mighty, the Knower inspireth thee (Muhammad) as (He inspired) those before thee. 3 To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth, and He is the Most High, the Most Great. 4 Almost might the heavens above be rent asunder while the angels hymn the praise of their Lord and ask forgiveness for those on the earth. Lo! Allah, He is the Forgiver, the Merciful. 5 And those who have taken to them protectors apart from Him -- God is Warden over them; thou art not a guardian over them. 6 And thus have We revealed to you an Arabic Quran, that you may warn the mother city and those around it, and that you may give warning of the day of gathering together wherein is no doubt; a party shall be in the garden and (another) party in the burning fire. 7 Had God so willed, He could have made all of them one community, but He admits into His mercy whom He wills; and the wrongdoers have neither protector, nor helper. 8 Or have they taken (for worship) Auliya' (guardians, supporters, helpers, protectors, etc.) besides Him? But Allah, He Alone is the Wali (Protector, etc.). And it is He Who gives life to the dead, and He is Able to do all things. 9
