Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Ha. Mim. 1 By the Book that makes things clear, 2 We have made it an Arabic Koran in order that you understand. 3 Indeed it is transcribed in the Original Book with Us; sublime and full of wisdom. 4 Shall We utterly ignore you because ye are a wanton folk? 5 We have sent many a prophet to earlier peoples 6 But never yet came a prophet to them without their deriding him 7 so We destroyed men stronger in valour than they, and the example of the ancients passed away. 8 And if thou (Muhammad) ask them: Who created the heavens and the earth, they will surely answer: The Mighty, the Knower created them; 9 Who has made for you the earth like a bed, and has made for you roads therein, in order that you may find your way, 10 and who sent down out of heaven water in measure; and We revived thereby a land that was dead; even so you shall be brought forth; 11 He Who created all the pairs, and appointed for you ships and cattle whereupon ye ride. 12 That ye mount firmly on the backs thereof, and then may remember the favour of your Lord when ye mount thereon, and may say: hallowed be He Who hath subjected this unto us, and we for it were not fit. 13 And indeed we, to our Lord, will [surely] return." 14 Yet they make some of His servants partners in His divinity. Man is clearly ungrateful! 15
