Ha. Mim. 1 I call to witness the lucent Book, 2 behold, We have caused it to be a discourse in the Arabic tongue, so that you might encompass it with your reason. 3 It is in the Origin of the Book with Us, sublime and wise. 4 Shall We turn away the Remembrance from you, for that you are a prodigal people? 5 How many a prophet did We send among the men of old! 6 no Prophet came to them except that they mocked him, 7 so We destroyed those who were mightier than these; such was the example of the earlier peoples. 8 And if you ask them, “Who has created the heavens and the earth?”, they will surely say, “They are created by the Most Honourable, the All Knowing.” 9 Who hath made for you the earth a bed, and hath made for you paths therein that haply ye may be directed. 10 He Who sent down water from the sky in a determined measure, and thereby We revived a dead land: likewise will you be raised up (from the earth) -- 11 He Who created all the pairs, and appointed for you ships and cattle whereupon ye ride. 12 so that when you are mounted upon them you may remember the bounty of your Lord, and say: “Glory be to Him Who has subjected this to Us whereas we did not have the strength to subdue it. 13 To our Lord we shall all return". 14 And from* His bondmen, they appointed a portion for Him; man is indeed an open ingrate. (* Appointed some of His creation as His sons and daughters). 15
