If anyone withdraws himself from remembrance of (Allah) Most Gracious, We appoint for him an evil one, to be an intimate companion to him. 36 and they bar them from the Way, though they themselves think that they are guided. 37 Until when he cometh unto Us, he will say. Ah! would that there had been between me and thee, the distance of the east and the west an evil companion 38 Because of the harm you did, it would be of no benefit to you today, you are partners in the punishment. 39 What, will you make the deaf hear, or guide the blind and he who is in clear error? 40 So if We take you away, We shall then indeed take revenge from them. 41 Or We shall show thee that (accomplished) which We have promised them: for verily We shall prevail over them. 42 Hold thou fast wherefore to that which is revealed unto thee: verily thou art on the straight path. 43 And lo! it is in truth a Reminder for thee and for thy folk; and ye will be questioned. 44 Ask those of Our Messengers We sent before thee: Have We appointed, apart from the All-merciful, gods to be served? 45
