Whoso blinds himself to the Remembrance of the All-merciful, to him We assign a Satan for comrade; 36 and they bar them from the Way, though they themselves think that they are guided. 37 Until when he comes before Us he will say (to the devil): "Would to God there was a distance of the East and West between you and me, for you were an evil companion!" 38 But nothing will avail you on that day, for you were unjust, and you will be partners in the punishment. 39 Can you make the deaf to hear, or show the blind, and those lost in clear error, the way? 40 And if We take thee away, We surely shall take vengeance on them, 41 Or (if) We show you that wherewith We threaten them, then verily, We have perfect command over them. 42 So hold thou fast to the Revelation sent down to thee; verily thou art on a Straight Way. 43 And indeed, it is a remembrance for you and your people, and you [all] are going to be questioned. 44 Ask Our Messengers whom We sent before you if We have ever made gods, other than the Merciful, to be worshipped. 45
