۞ And when the son of Mary is quoted as an example, behold! the folk laugh out, 57 And they said, "Are your gods better, or is he?" They did not present the comparison except for [mere] argument. But, [in fact], they are a people prone to dispute. 58 Jesus was not but a servant upon whom We bestowed favor, and We made him an example for the Children of Israel. 59 if We had so wished, We could have appointed angels in exchange for you to succeed you on the earth. 60 And verily he is a sign of the Hour wherefore dubitate not thereof, and follow Me: this is the straight path. 61 And let not Satan bar you [from it] - for, verily, he is your open foe! 62 When Jesus came with clear proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty), he said: I have come unto you with wisdom, and to make plain some of that concerning which ye differ. So keep your duty to Allah, and obey me. 63 "For Allah, He is my Lord and your Lord: so worship ye Him: this is a Straight Way." 64 But the factions differed among themselves. Woe alas to the sinners for the torment of the grievous Day! 65 Are they awaiting anything other than the Last Hour that it should suddenly come upon them without their even perceiving it? 66 On that Day, [erstwhile] friends will be foes unto one another - [all] save the God-conscious. 67
