And indeed We saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment, 30 They (had experienced) under the Pharaoh. He was certainly a tyrant, guilty of excess. 31 And We exalted them over the other people knowingly, 32 And granted them signs in which there was a plain trial. 33 Even then they say: 34 "There is nothing but our first death, and we shall not be resurrected. 35 So bring our ancestors back, if you are truthful." 36 Are they better, or the people of Tubba' and those before them whom We destroyed? They were surely sinners. 37 We created not the heavens and earth, and all that between them is, in play; 38 We created them in nothing else except the truth. But most do not know. 39 The Day of Final Decision is the appointed time for all; 40 the Day when no friend shall be of the least avail to his friend, and when none shall be succoured 41 except for those to whom God grants mercy. He is Majestic and All-merciful. 42
