And assuredly We delivered the Children of Isra'il from an ignominous torment 30 From Firaun; he was indeed proud, among the transgressors. 31 And We chose them aforetime above the nations, knowingly, 32 And We gave them of signs that in which there was a clear trial. 33 Indeed these disbelievers proclaim; – 34 there is nothing beyond our first death; we shall not be raised again. 35 “Therefore bring back our forefathers, if you are truthful!” 36 Are they better than the people of Tubba, and those who had lived before them, whom We destroyed as they were sinners? 37 We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, out of play. 38 We created them in nothing else except the truth. But most do not know. 39 VERILY, the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false] is the term appointed for all of them: 40 A day when friend can in naught avail friend, nor can they be helped, 41 Save him on whom Allah hath mercy. Lo! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 42
