Al-Dukhaan 2 of 3
Thus did We deliver the Children of Israel from the humiliating chastisement, 30 (We delivered them) from Pharaoh. Lo! he was a tyrant of the wanton ones. 31 And We certainly chose them by knowledge over [all] the worlds. 32 And sent them tokens to bring out the best in them. 33 [Now,] behold, these [people] say indeed: 34 "After we die, we shall never be raised to life again. 35 Bring then our fathers if ye say so. 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba and those afore them? We destroyed them; verily they were culprits. 37 For [thus it is:] We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them in mere idle play: 38 We created them not except for just ends: but most of them do not understand. 39 The Day of Judgement is your promised day of meeting, 40 A Day whereon a friend shall not avail a friend at all, nor shall they be helped. 41 Apart from those to whom God is kind. He is all-mighty and all-merciful. 42
