And We certainly saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment - 30 from Pharaoh, who ranked high in sin, 31 And We chose them, purposely, above (all) creatures. 32 and gave them signs wherein there was a manifest trial. 33 These men do say, 34 There is naught but our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 So bring our ancestors back, if you are truthful." 36 Are they better than the people of Tubba, and those who had lived before them, whom We destroyed as they were sinners? 37 We did not idly create the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them; 38 We did not create them save with a purpose, yet most people have no knowledge of this. 39 The Day of Final Decision is the appointed time for all; 40 the Day when no friend shall be of the least avail to another, nor shall any be helped, 41 Save those on whom Allah will have mercy. Verily He! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 42
