Kneeling (Al-Jaatheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Ha-Mim. 1 THE BESTOWAL from on high of this divine writ issues from God, the Almighty, the Wise. 2 Indeed, within the heavens and earth are signs for the believers. 3 in your own creation and all the creatures He has spread about, there are signs for people of sure faith; 4 And in the alternation of night and day, and the provision (rain) that Allah sends down from the sky, and revives therewith the earth after its death, and in the turning about of the winds (i.e. sometimes towards the east or north, and sometimes towards the south or west etc., sometimes bringing glad tidings of rain etc., and sometimes bringing the torment), are signs for a people who understand. 5 These are the verses of Allah which We recite to you in truth. Then in what statement after Allah and His verses will they believe? 6 Woe to all the guilty impostors! 7 Who heareth the revelations of Allah recited unto him, and then continueth in pride as though he heard them not. Give him tidings of a painful doom. 8 And when he knows anything of Our verses, he takes them in ridicule. Those will have a humiliating punishment. 9 There is Hell before them; and whatever they have earned will not avail them in the least, nor those whom they take as friends apart from God. There is great chastisement for them. 10 This (Qur'an) is the true guidance. Those who deny the Signs of their Lord shall suffer the torment of a woeful scourge. 11
