And certainly We created man, and We know what his mind suggests to him, and We are nearer to him than his life-vein. 16 Behold, two (guardian angels) appointed to learn (his doings) learn (and noted them), one sitting on the right and one on the left. 17 each word he utters shall be noted down by a vigilant guardian. 18 And [then,] the twilight of death brings with it the [full] truth that [very thing, O man,] from which thou wouldst always look away! 19 The trumpet will be sounded. This is the Day [you were] warned of. 20 Each soul will come with a driver and a witness. 21 “You were indeed neglectful of this, so We have removed the veil for you, and your eyesight is sharp this day.” 22 And his accompanying angel said, “This is the record of your deeds, available with me.” 23 The command was given: “Cast into Hell every hardened, stubborn unbeliever, 24 Hinderer of good, transgressor, doubter, 25 Who made [as equal] with Allah another deity; then throw him into the severe punishment." 26 ۞ His accompanying devil said, “Our Lord! I did not cause him to rebel, but he himself was in extreme error.” 27 He will say: Do not quarrel in My presence, and indeed I gave you the threatening beforehand: 28 No word is to be exchanged in My presence. I am not unjust to My servants". 29
