NOW, VERILY, it is We who have created man, and We know what his innermost self whispers within him: for We are closer to him than his neck-vein. 16 When the two Receivers receive (him), seated on the right hand and on the left, 17 Not a word does he utter but there is a sentinel by him, ready (to note it). 18 And the intoxication of death will bring the truth; that is what you were trying to avoid. 19 And the trumpet is blown. This is the threatened Day. 20 Every soul will be accompanied (by an angel) behind him and another as a witness. 21 'Thou wast heedless of this; therefore We have now removed from thee thy covering, and so thy sight today is piercing.' 22 And his Companion will say: "Here is (his Record) ready with me!" 23 (And it will be said): "Both of you throw (Order from Allah to the two angels) into Hell, every stubborn disbeliever (in the Oneness of Allah, in His Messengers, etc.). 24 “The one who excessively prevented from virtue, the transgressor, the doubtful.” 25 Who set up with Allah another god. So cast him ye twain into the torment severe. 26 ۞ His accompanying devil said, “Our Lord! I did not cause him to rebel, but he himself was in extreme error.” 27 He will say: "Dispute not with each other in My Presence: I had already in advance sent you Warning. 28 "The Word changes not before Me, and I do not the least injustice to My Servants." 29
