Have you seen him who turns his back, 33 and gives a little, and then grudgingly? 34 Is with him the knowledge of the unseen so that he sees? 35 Or, has he not been told of that which is in the Scrolls of Moses 36 And (of) Ibrahim who fulfilled (the commandments): 37 That no laden one shall bear another's load, 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 And that his effort will soon be scrutinised? 40 Then he will be fully repaid for it? 41 that all things in the end shall return to God; 42 And that it is He who makes [one] laugh and weep 43 and that it is He who causes to die, and causes to live 44 and that He Himself created the two sexes: male and female, 45 From a drop (of seed) when it is poured forth; 46 And that upon Him is another bringing forth. 47 And that it is He Who enricheth and preserveth property. 48 And that He is the Lord of the Sirius; 49 It is He who utterly destroyed the ancient tribes of Ad, 50 And destroyed the tribe of Thamud, not sparing anyone? 51 and the people of Noah before -- certainly they did exceeding evil, and were insolent 52 and the Subverted City He also overthrew, 53 Then covered them with that which covered them. 54 Then which of the Graces of your Lord (O man!) will you doubt. 55 THIS IS a warning like those warnings of old: 56 The Hour that was to come draws ever nearer. 57 There shall be none besides Allah to remove it. 58 Do you, perchance, find this tiding strange? 59 Or do you laugh, and do you not weep 60 and divert yourselves all the while? 61 [Nay,] but prostrate yourselves before God, and worship [Him alone]! ۩ 62
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
