And assuredly We have created man and We know whatsoever his soul whispereth unto him, and We are nigher unto him than his jugular vein. 16 When the two receivers receive, seated on the right and on the left. 17 not a word he utters, but by him is an observer ready. 18 And the hardship of death came with the truth; “This is what you were escaping from!” 19 And the trumpet is blown. This is the threatened Day. 20 And every soul shall come, and with it a driver and a witness. 21 [and will be told:] "Indeed, unmindful hast thou been of this [Day of Judgment]; but now We have lifted from thee thy veil, and sharp is thy sight today!" 22 And his companion (angel) will say: "Here is (this Record) ready with me!" 23 (They will be told,) "Throw into hell every persistent disbelievers, 24 Preventer of good, aggressor, and doubter, 25 Who had set up another god with God. Cast him into severe torment." 26 ۞ Man's other self' will say: "O our Sustainer! It was not I that led his conscious mind into evil [nay,] but it had gone far astray [of its own accord]! 27 He saith: Contend not in My presence, when I had already proffered unto you the warning. 28 and My word shall not be changed, nor am I unjust to My servants." 29
